Uurgh. We usually try to get to Tim Burton's movies. But they are distinctly hit or miss...this one could go either way but that trailer says 'miss' to me...

Not convinced myself. I've a feeling it's going to leave me with the same feeling as the Bewitched attempt.

Let the snark begin

My take

As I said on FB, comedy is inextricably built-in to the essence of DS, because it was made so quickly and cheaply (I still remember "incestors" and Jonathan F walking through the set with his coat over his arm while the end credits were running). That said, to have tried another serious remake would never have worked.

This seems to me to tick all the boxes. It's going to be funny, it's avoiding the trap of deliberately doing it badly, and from what I've seen it's clearly made with love. I think at very least it couldbe another Young Frankenstein.

There is that chance and in anyone can pull it off it will be Burton but the trailor doesn't give me that much hope.
