It must be winter. I've just spent the last 20 minutes going round the house with a roll of masking tape running it down the gaps in the windows. Still got a couple to do but the kitchen one can wait and the cat is sleeping on the ottoman I need to stand on to reach the bedroom one.

Yup; up here in Embra the temperature is dropping like a half-brick today -- not sub-zero, or even due to go below the frost line this week (if you trust the Met Office) but there's a cold breeze blowing, and it's time to retire the summerweight jacket until April.

Time to do the masking tape thing around the windows that don't get opened, I think. Especially the ones above radiators.

The other trick I'm going to try this year is heavy foil down the backs of radiators to reflect heat back into the room instead of heating the outside walls. Maybe not as vital with your wall thickness but it may make a difference round here.
