Scrape back and repair time. Do any other crafters get the feeling a project is actually fighting them or it it just deadline paranoia.

Repainted the scraped bits and it's looking a little better. So long as the paint is dry before packing I can always do final assembly at the con. Wouldn't be the first time after all.(grin).

This project has fought back most of the way dammit. Looks like it's finally coming together now though.
