It's been a long few weeks. We've had the builders in putting on a new roof and on Friday they finally took down the scaffolding that's been covering the place for five weeks. The roof looks great but it's just cost me 65 quid for the sky tv bloke to come and fix the antenna they managed to belt plus 68 quid to have the carpets cleaned of all the black dust you get from an 80 year old roof being striped. Tomorrow they're coming back to sweep up the last of the rubble, fix the tiles on the porch they dropped stuff off the scaffold onto and hopefully replace the patio slab the scaffolders belted a chunk off the side of.

At least we know we shouldn't have to have anything more done on the roof for a long while. If it can survive the Leeds Tornado, which was less than a mile away the day after they finished capping off, then it should do the job.

I just wish I had that magic pack of butter on that advert where the woman stands there eating toast while all the animals clean house for her. I hate dusting and floor mopping.
