The kids are back at school and I finally have the house to myself (cat not being counted here, he spends most of the time either in his cat bed looking out the window or out terrorising what he's spotted through same).

Unfortunately this did not mean yesterday was spent doing odd jobs and catching up, that was taken up on working out what to do to help out a friend whos partner died very suddenly on Tuesday leaving three kids under 11 who need looking out for.  This friend is not the kids Dad but he's a better one than their genetic one ever could be.  Good thoughts for the well being of those kids and the hope that they end up being looked after by the people their Mother wanted them to go to and not their Fathers family would be appreciated.

There's a bunch of us putting together a rota for stuff like casseroles and other no fuss chillable or freezable meals. This is extra important since there is a diabetic in the house. Luckily they only live round the corner and I see the kids most days at school.

Glad to hear it (it's what I expected, but it can be awfully easy to overlook in a crisis).
